"Every child is an artist." Picasso said it, and we believe it. We are thrilled to bring our Creative Canvas Workshop back to area elementary schools again this year to help students discover and/or enhance the artist inside each of them.

Third and fourth grade students at each of Washington County's elementary schools and at Southern Choctaw Elementary School will learn about art and painting techniques from visiting artist Rianna Freeman Turner during the workshops in late October and early November. Students will be guided by the artist in creating their own unique masterpiece.

The program is offered free to local students and is underwritten by the Wilcox Foundation and our local sponsors: BASF, Olin, Angeline, Andrew's Hardware, Clarke-Washington EMC, First Community Bank, and Williams Financial Group.
