Bringing Shakespeare to Washington County Schools

As part of our initiative to provide exposure to different facets of the arts and offer hands-on learning opportunities in our community, we have invited the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's traveling troupe to perform for our local high school students on February 1 and 2.

Each day, the troupe will perform Shakespeare's "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" and host a hands-on workshop on theatre skills and Shakespeare's language with a small group of students.

On February 1, we will be at Leroy High School with upperclassmen from LHS and McIntosh High School. On February 2, we will take the troupe to Washington County High School to perform for students from WCHS, Fruitdale High School, and Millry High School.

Look for photos and video clips from the event on our Facebook page: Wilcox Foundation and Gallery.
