Creative Canvas at Chatom Elementary School
On April 4th, third and fourth grade students at Chatom Elementary School will have the opportunity to take a painting class with Mobile artist Rianna Freeman Turner. The artist will guide the students step-by-step in painting an 8x10 canvas.
About the Artist:
Rianna Freeman Turner grew up on the Mississippi coast and uses her love of the water and colors and textures of the coast as the inspiration for much of her work. She is a graduate of the University of Mobile in communications and fine art and also holds a masters in counseling. While most of her work is in acrylic, Rianna also works with oils and mixed media.
She has worked as a freelance painter for 15 years, part of which was spent teaching. She has completed numerous commissioned pieces for clients around the country including an original oil for actor Mark Harmon. Rianna is also a published children’s book illustrator.
When she isn’t playing in paint, Rianna enjoys spending time with her sweet husband, Steven, and little dog, Molly Mae. She also loves running, interior design, strawberry shortcake, sushi, and madlibs. Rianna lives in Mobile, AL.
